Shandong and Hong Kong: Hearts Together, Education in Step
—Hong Kong Precious Blood Primary School (South Horizons) Visits for In-Depth Cultural Exchange

On March 31, The primary school attached to Shandong Normal University welcomed a special group of guests—a delegation of 38 teachers and students from Hong Kong Precious Blood Primary School (South Horizons). This exchange was a follow-up to the sister-school agreement signed during the Shandong-Hong Kong Basic Education Exchange Forum, aiming to strengthen friendship and promote cultural and educational collaboration between the two regions.

The event began with student representatives from The primary school attached to Shandong Normal University gathering in the academic hall to welcome their Hong Kong peers. School leaders attended the welcome ceremony and extended a warm welcome to Principal Lin Shucao, Head Teacher Huang Shangyu, and the 32 students from Hong Kong, expressing hopes that the exchange would foster mutual understanding and shared growth.

Through a vivid cultural video about Shandong, the Hong Kong delegation gained an initial appreciation of the historical richness of the Qilu region and the unique charm of Jinan, the "Spring City." The profound cultural heritage and educational philosophy of The primary school attached to Shandong Normal University earned high praise from the visiting teachers and students.

During the event, leaders from both schools introduced their respective educational approaches and cultural characteristics. Zhang Fang elaborated on The primary school attached to Shandong Normal University’s practice of "holistic development with moral education as the priority," while Lin Shucao shared insights into Hong Kong’s internationalized education system and diverse curriculum.

The two schools exchanged commemorative gifts, symbolizing the enduring friendship between Shandong and Hong Kong in education.

The visiting Hong Kong students immersed themselves in classroom activities alongside fifth-grade students, participating in traditional Chinese cultural experiences such as paper-cutting, knot-making, and kite-painting.

During a solemn flag-raising ceremony, Hong Kong student representative Su Xuxuan delivered a speech, expressing her gratitude and joy for the trip. Standing side by side, students from both regions felt a shared sense of patriotism.

The delegation also toured the school’s cultural halls, science museum, aerospace room, calligraphy classroom, art studio, and pottery workshop. The innovative works created by The primary school attached to Shandong Normal University students left a deep impression on the Hong Kong visitors.

As the visit concluded, the Hong Kong teachers and students shared that the exchange had not only allowed them to experience the warmth of their hosts but also deepened their appreciation for the breadth of Chinese culture and the complementary strengths of the two regions’ educational systems.

The primary school attached to Shandong Normal University will take this opportunity to further expand cooperation with its Hong Kong sister school, creating more interactive learning experiences for students from both sides.
