On November 4th, 2025, the inaugural Jinan - Hong Kong - Macao Friendly Schools Teachers and Students Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition kicked off grandly at Jinan No.1 High School of Shandong Province. With the purpose of deepening educational exchanges and cultural cooperation among Jinan, Hong Kong and Macao, this event aimed to jointly inherit and carry forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture.
Leaders attending the opening ceremony included Zhang Liansan, Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee; Sun Qigao, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Shandong Academy of Educational Sciences; Fang Mingyuan, Deputy Director of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China; Zhang Yongqiang, Member of the Standing Committee and Director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Jinan Municipal Committee; Zhao Bo, Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the CPC Jinan Municipal Committee; and Wang Hong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of Jinan Municipal Education Bureau. Also present at this grand event were Responsible comrades from the United Front Work Department,Education Bureau and Bureau of Culture and Tourism of Jinan Municipal Government, principal responsible comrades from the Bureaus of Education and Sports of various districts and counties, as well as teacher and student representatives from Jinan-side schools among the Jinan-Hong Kong-Macao friendly schools.
At the opening ceremony, Miao Cuiqiang, Principal of Jinan No.1 High School of Shandong Province, delivered a speech on behalf of Jinan- side schools. He pointed out that artistic exchanges serve as an important way to broaden students’ cultural horizons and enhance their cultural identity. Ge Yuchen, a student from Jinan Foreign Language School, shared her gains and insights from participating in the event as a student representative. Meanwhile, representatives of teachers and students from Hong Kong and Macao conveyed their profound friendship across the distance through video speeches. In his address, Fang Mingyuan emphasized that this event had played a positive role in strengthening emotional bonds and cultural integration among young people from the three regions.
Witnessed by all the distinguished guests present, leaders and guests touched the screen and inaugurated the exhibition together, marking the official launch of the inaugural Jinan-Hong Kong-Macao Friendly Schools Teachers and Students Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition.

After the opening ceremony, the guests moved to the exhibition area for a visit. There were 419 calligraphy and painting works in total created by teachers and students from 23 schools in Jinan and 18 friendly schools in Hong Kong and Macao, including elaborate works by 61 teachers and 358 students. These works covered a wide range of themes and came in diverse forms. They not only inherited traditional brushwork techniques but also incorporated modern artistic innovations, fully demonstrating the profound artistic skills of teachers and students from the three regions and their in-depth understanding of Chinese culture.

In recent years, remarkable achievements have been made in educational exchanges and cooperation between Jinan, Hong Kong and Macao, with the number of friendly "sister schools" continuously on the rise. The successful holding of this calligraphy and painting exhibition has not only built a platform for teachers and students from the three regions to show their talents and deepen friendships but also promoted the development of educational and cultural exchanges among the three regions to a deeper level. Looking ahead, taking this exhibition as a new starting point, Jinan, Hong Kong and Macao will continue to work hand in hand to develop this event into a bright calling card for educational and cultural exchanges among the three sides and jointly write a new chapter of exchanges and cooperation between Jinan, Hong Kong and Macao.
