Education Profile in South Mountain Zone

There are currently 35 primary and secondary schools in South Mountain Zone, including one senior high school, one quality education centre for primary and secondary students, 7 junior high schools, and 26 primary schools.

As for preschool education, there are 63 registered kindergartens,among which,32 are state-owned,while 31 are private (“Generally Beneficial Kindergarten”) . The number of provincial demonstration and provincial first-class kindergartens reaches 41.The number of all the enrolled children is 5249 ,all enjoying the benefit of national policy.

There are 1480 authorized primary and secondary school teachers (excluding teachers in quality education centre) and 22,845 students, of whom 12,582 are in primary schools, 5,450 in junior high schools and 4,813 in the senior high school- Licheng No. 1 Middle School. Of all the 608 classes, 377 are in primary schools, 132 in junior high schools and 99 in Licheng No. 1 Middle School.

With Licheng No.1 Middle School as the core school, Nanshan Education Group is established to have 13 schools included. They are 7 ordinary junior high schools, a key primary school- Nanshan Experimental Primary School, and central primary schools run bysub-district offices. Three alliances "middle school", "primary school"and "preschool" are joined together to form an integrated teaching and research system, and create "efficient and authentic" classrooms throughout the region.

The achievements in education and teaching are remarkable. 10 teachers have been selected as Qilu Famous Teachers, Jinan Famous Teachers and other construction projects candidates. One teacher has won the first prize in the national teaching competition. 46 awards were won in the 19th Class Culture and Art Festival in Jinan , of which 13 were first prizes, reaching a new height. The girls’ cricket team of Zhonggong Street Ethnic Primary School has won the champions of Shandong Province and the first national champion. More than 20 schools have won the provincial and municipal honorary titles. In 2023, the Social Affairs Administration, Licheng No. 1 Middle School and Nanshan Experimental Primary School were appraised as advanced collectives in teaching and education by Jinan CPC Committee and Municipal Government.
