The Zhangqiu Education and Sports Bureau currently oversees 96 public institutions, in addition to 4 private primary and secondary schools and 187 kindergartens of various levels. There are over 110,000 students in primary and secondary schools across the district, with 29,000 children enrolled in kindergartens, and more than 9,768 teaching staff members.

In recent years, bearing in mind the mission of "educating for the Party and nurturing talent for the country," Zhangqiu education and sports have focused on the goal of "providing satisfactory education and sports services to the people." Centered on quality improvement and educational research, the district has vigorously implemented eight major projects: party-building leadership, teaching quality enhancement, balanced development of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education, cadre quality improvement, teacher welfare, benefits for the public through education and sports, educational layout planning and campus safety. These initiatives have created a strong synergy for fostering virtue and cultivating people. Comprehensive measures have been taken to strictly govern the Party and enforce discipline, including the creation of "one school, one feature" programs, insisting on party-building leading youth league and team building; continuously optimizing the educational layout by promoting high-quality balanced development of urban and rural education through partnerships; deepening educational reforms, implementing group-based schooling plans, earnestly applying the "Comprehensive Plan for Deepening the Reform of Educational Evaluation in the New Era," establishing and implementing the "Zhangqiu District Comprehensive Evaluation System for the Five Education Areas in Primary and Secondary Schools," strengthening the "trinity" model of regional teaching research, subject research centers, and master teacher workshops. The achievements of this research, the "multidimensional thinking classroom" teaching construction and practical exploration, have been promoted nationwide; fully implementing subsidy policies for students with established files and cards, actively exploring mechanisms for community education services, striving to become a national model district for high-quality balanced development of compulsory education and for all-round fitness among the public, and deeply promoting traditional sports into campuses; solidly implementing a grid-based safety management responsibility system, standardizing the behavior of private educational institutions, intensifying the focus on resolving hot issues in education, and continuously improving the ecological environment for the development of education and sports in the district.
